At the entrance of the Ardèche Canyon, the beaches of Saint-Martin-d’Ardèche and Saint-Just-d’Ardèche have been awarded the prestigious, Blue Flag ecolabel.

Highest standard for water quality!

The annually rewarded label guarantees environmental quality and promotes preservation of the natural habitat. The joint efforts carried out for thirty years by the managing organizations pay off … the water quality is excellent and water quality analysis is conducted throughout the summer following an established sampling calendar to prove it.
The Blue Flag criteria are divided into four categories: Environmental education and information, water quality, environmental management, safety and services.
During July and August all three beaches are patrolled by lifeguards, toilets are available to the public and facilities for wheelchairs are displayed. A “tiralo” beach chair, a device designed for people with reduced mobility, is available at “Grain de Sel” beach in Saint-Martin-d’Ardèche.
During the Blue Flag season environmental education activities are offered and promoted to beach users by the Managing Organization of the Nature Reserve.
