Above and underground ... our destination offers you its difference!

Far from the postcard of the traditional French wine regions, the Southern Ardèche combines past, present and future. From the slopes of the Rhône valley or the Cévennes, to the underground world of the Ardèche gorges, its wine can be tasted on earth, underground, on the water … heartfully and without fuss. We have no castles or “grand cru classé”, but spectacular and unique nature, men with profound personalities like their caves, open hearts and rich humanity in the image of the prehistoric artworks of the Chauvet cave.

Experiences wine and terroir

Wine and truffle or tapenade workshops, a visit in the vineyards by bike or “Mehari” off-road car, “spéléoenologie” in the heart of Saint-Marcel cave, dining in the medieval kitchen of an episcopal palace … The winemakers have plenty of ideas to share with you their passion and the fruit of their work. Tourist offices and travel agencies concoct for you tailor made tours to make the most of your stay in our destination.

Festivities all year round and a "fascinating weekend

Numerous wineries offer theme events throughout the year. These highlights are opportunities for wine-tasting, to meet the winemakers and to party in a great atmosphere. At the end of the grape harvest, the 3rd weekend of October, all the ” Vignobles et découvertes ” destinations of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region deploy the red carpet and organize activities and events: concerts in the wine cellars or the vineyards, hiking and guided tours, “castagnades” (chestnut roasting), cooking classes with food and wine pairing … a weekend that is worth the trip!
