Grotte de Saint-Marcel-d'Ardèche

In the very heart of the Ardèche Gorges, you will be amazed
by the immensity of this cave’s galleries, the wealth of its
concretions including the bewitching limestone basin (gour)
waterfall which is unique in Europe.
One-hour visit. 2 sound and light shows.

With 60 km of galleries la Grotte St Marcel is one of the biggest caves in France. You will discover huge rooms and galleries following a former underground river in a 400m long circuit. Sound and light shows. Huge halls and a waterfall of about 100 calcite basins, unique in Europe !

Since 2013, local winegrowers age part their best wines in the cave, 80m underground. Wine tasting, (AOC wines Côtes du Rhône /Côtes du Rhône Village and local produce), wine tasting and speleology... Visual and gustative pleasures !

Themed tours (reservation recommended) :
Wine tasting : visit of the cave and wine tasting with a specialized guide. (On Thursday, 11:30 (all the season).

Meetings about wine. On Saturday, out of high season at 5 pm and from 8 July to 1st September at 6 pm.

The fireflies trip : On Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 10:00 from 8 July to 1st September. During the holidays at 11 am on Wednesday.

Visits for children with Dundee : a nice visit with a little dinosaur and its ventriloquist (for all). On Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 (from 8 July to 1st September). On 23 April at 11 am, Easter egg hunt with Dundee.

Outside : a botanical path called « le chemin de la grosse pierre » (2,8 km).
